The rapid growth of broadcasting industry in Indonesia made the advertising,
production and post production need a lot of patricians human resources in 3D
animation and game production.
In this program students learn about the concepts of basic principles of animation,
modeling, visualization, sculpting and character animation. Practice in using several
softwares is given to give students technical competence.
International standard curriculum and project based methodology provide graduates
with knowledge & skill in 3d animation to prepare them to meet requirements set by
film, games and visualization industries, local as well as overseas.
Student portfolio contains compilation of art works which includes TVC, automotive
model, 3D logo, visual effects and character animation.

Course Description
Term 1: Foundation I
Creative Drawing 1
Manual drawing techniques with various tools and media are introduced and
exploited systematically to develop students' drawing skill.
Art & Design History
To give students knowledge and to enhance theeir sense of art, they will explore
the world of art and design, beginning with its history and affluent background,
and diverse work of arts up to the modern age.
Animation Fundamentals
This subject is designed to give students knowledge on the principles of animation.
It also gives students practice in developing workflow of the production of an animation
and to discuss case studies.
Basic Photography
Students will explore photography as a tool of visual communication and will have
practice in using photography techniques .
Computer Graphic Fundamentals
Fundamental concepts of computer graphics such as photo manupulation and illustration
are introduced using software and bitmap softwares.
English
English ispractised in calss to give students opportunity to express their ideas
and thoughts in English as a foreign language.
Term II: Foundation II
Creative Drawing 2
Exercise in sketch and tracing techniques is given to make students understand
the needs of animation and illustration as one of the elements in conveying a message of a
design.
Design Fundamental
Through hands-on projects, students exercise various manual studio techniques such as
mounting, emboss, pop up and mock up. This course also explores the interaction of colors.
Typography I
The world of typography which is the foundation of graphic world is introduced here, with
emphasis on anatomy, classification, composition and combination of typography and color.
Basic Video Production
This course introduces students to basic techniques of cinematography and storytelling with
the use of a video camera.
Desktop Publishing
Students will practise to use techniques of designing a layout using Desktop publishing
software.
Communication & Presentation
The skill of conveying opinion, ideas, argumentation and other thoughts is exercised in this
course. Focus is on the techniques of how to effectively present the subject, including body
language, vocal and contact with the audience.
Term III: Visualization & TV Commercial
Creativity Workshop
Students are encouraged to explore creativity though unique methods to exercise creativity
which is imperative in the creative industry.
Animation 1
Develoment of an animated TV commercial and visualization of a photo-realistic product for
communication needs are the main focus in this course .
Animation Studio 1
How to build modeling for a visualization project and how to apply the principles of animation
for TV Commercials are exercised in this class.
Classical Animation 2
Students will learn to apply principles of classical animation in manual as well as in digital
animation projects.
Digital Production 1
This class provides students with the know how in digital video solution and its integration to
multimedia needs.
Term IV: Texturing, Lighting & Effects
Screenwriting
Assignments in developing ideas into a story, such as TV serial and animated film for the
animation industry will be given in this class.
Animation 2
Students study more complex effect,, such as period system, fluid, point & 3D tracking , by
compositing with live action.
Animation Studio 2:
The making of animation is learned using conpositing techniques needed for television
broadcast application and visual effects.
Digital Production 2
Advanced techniques will be explored, such as 3D space compositing, distortion and maitre
painting. Students will also learn simulations with optical effects and digital pyrotechnics.
Game Art & Design
Students will practice to create a character and product design which will be used in game
development.
Term V:
Character Animation & Game Production
Editing & Storytelling
The how to convey ideas in a text visually and in an effective way is practiced through the
process of picture and film editing.
Animation 3
Materials for this course include advanced character modeling, skeleton et-up, , and
workflow of animation production.
Animation Studio 3
This course explores concepts of creating a human character, from character design to
animation . Through projects and assignments, students learn to develop a better sense of
timing, staging and fluid movement.
Animation Business
Lectures and assignment on animation, visual effect workflow and production management
are given to prepare students for their future work in this industry. Students also learn the
professional practice and business conducts .
Game Production
How to produce a 3D animation as content of an interactive game is exercised in this course.
Term VI
Final Project
In this term students can choose to develop a final project on visualization, visusal effects or
short animation.
